David Troyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Homes in the Palmer Community Complex - Lakeville Chapel on Nov. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

David Carl Troyer, 56, passed away on November 23, 2025, at home with his loving family. Anyone who knew Dave would know that is precisely where he wanted to be–with his loving wife Amy and his sons Ace and Jack.

Dave was born in Goshen, Indiana, on June 6, 1969, to the (late) David and Marsha (Zencka) Troyer. In addition to his parents, Dave is survived by his wife Amy (Kaser), his sons David Abram Ace Troyer and Daniel Jackson Troyer, sisters Mary (Tim) Bultemeier, Lori (James) Martin, his brother Mark Troyer, many nieces and nephews, relatives, friends, and his best friend Jody Goralski.

Dave attended Bethel College and was on its NCCAA National Championship Team–listed in the Bethel Athletics Hall of Fame-considered to be the most dominating scorer in Bethel College history.

Dave and Amy married in 1993. A long line of love, golfing, grilling, attending sports events, coaching, and spending time with Amy, Ace, and Jack transpired. Dave loved his family more than anything and loved every second he had with them.

Dave, a natural-born educator, teacher, administrator, and student services director over the course of his stellar career, most recently at School City of Mishawaka.

Dave will be remembered for his overwhelming kindness, unwavering commitment to education, spreading laughter to everyone he encountered, and his deep-rooted faith in Jesus. His favorite verse: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

The Troyers will receive family and friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, Indiana. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a committal service at Porter Rae Cemetery at Potato Creek State Park.
