David H. Trushel

Age 93, passed away July 5, 2023. He was born August 3, 1929 in Pittsburgh. He attended Washington & Jefferson College and then attended The Dickinson School of Law from which he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1954. He then entered the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General's Corp. Upon discharge, with the rank of Captain, he entered the private practice of law in Pittsburgh, PA in 1959. He practiced law in Pittsburgh until his retirement in 2000. During his career, he was a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. Attorney Trushel was admitted to practice before all the courts of Pennsylvania, including the Superior Court and Supreme Court, as well as the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, The Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. During his career, he founded Law Skil, a placement service for attorneys, paralegals and legal support staff in Pittsburgh, PA as well as Advance Cost & Settlement Funding Corp., a company which provides funds to individuals involved in litigation, in Sarasota, FL.
David and his wife, Cora became full-time residents of Sarasota, FL in the early 2000s. He is predeceased by his wife Cora May. He is survived by his daughter Yolanda Dooley (Mark), daughter-in-law Laura Trushel, grandchildren, David James (Jenna), Connor Joseph, Alyssa Dutzer (Matthew), Gregory Dooley (Jada), Kaylyn Dooley; and four great grandchildren; Christian and Ellia Trushel and Liam and Cora Dutzer. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Beinhauer Family Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, where a blessing service will be held at 1PM. David will be interred in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery beside his wife Cora May, with a reception to follow. Contributions may be made in David's memory to W&J College, 60 S.
