David Tsvihun Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sullivan Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service - Hinsdale on Jan. 31, 2026.
David Tsvihun, age 8, of Oak Brook, IL, passed away on January 29, 2026, with his loving parents by his side. He was the beloved son of Alex Tsvihun and Nataliya Shvets. David was a devoted and loving brother to Victoria, Stella, and Mark Tsvihun. He was a cherished grandson to Viktor and Tamara Tsvihun and Bohdana Shvets, and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ivan Shvets. David was also a treasured nephew, cousin, and friend to many. His vibrant spirit and kind heart touched all who knew him. David will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends, as well as the entire Saint Isaac Jogues School Community, who mourn his loss and cherish his memory.

Good Day Friends!

Unfortunately, we have very bad news.

01/29/26, 20:21 the heart of our beloved son David stopped.

Nothing foreshadowed trouble.

He was always a healthy, strong and happy boy who loved and valued life very much.

He loved to learn everything new and was engaged in various sports: swimming, tennis, football, golf, baseball, chess, playing the piano.

As always, we all happily celebrated Christmas and New Year 2026 together and returned from vacation in Florida to home in Oak Brook, IL on 01/05/26.

On 01/07/26 he was diagnosed with a very serious disease, the last 3 weeks he fought with it like a real Spartan, as we always taught him to always be strong, honest, kind, brave and never complain about anything and hold on to the last and always and necessarily believe in God, because everything is in his hands and he will always be there and will always help.

And he believed it until his last breath.

But unfortunately, the disease overcame him and now his soul is already in heaven.

We loved him very much, we love him and we will always love him!

This is an incredible loss for us.

We can't imagine how we're going to live without him.

We only hope that we have the strength to endure all this.

But we know for sure that he is now in heaven and he is doing well there and he will always be with us.

Sincerely, David's parents.

I didn't know David, but after seeing the video of his life at the wake, I feel like I know him well. His infectious smile and daunting spirit were on display as he participated in so many activities including sports of all kinds, choir and piano. He was a proud member of Saint Isaac Jogues School, and I'm sure he was loved much by his fellow classmates.

Thank you so much, dear parents of David, for making this video and sharing your beloved son's life with us. He was a treasure here on earth for you and your family and so many others. Now he is a treasure in heaven. May the Lord bring you peace and comfort as you mourn his loss, knowing that he is in eternal glory.
