David Tyler Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 13, 2024.
David Emerson Tyler passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday August 10, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
David was born on April 12, 1953, in Galveston, TX to Lucille and W.M. (Bob) Tyler. After graduating from La Marque High School in 1972, he dedicated years of service as a reserve police officer with the Hitchcock, La Marque, and Santa Fe Police Departments. Following this, he pursued a career as a machinist, contributing his skills first at Union Carbide and later at Ineos. Throughout his life, David was esteemed by his colleagues, friends, and family for his quick wit and unwavering humor, characteristics that remained with him until the end.
David had a passion for hunting and fishing, and he loved teaching his children and grandchildren about the joys of these activities. In recent years, he especially enjoyed organizing group fishing trips for the entire family, creating cherished memories together; the last trip was recently taken for his 71 birthday this past April.
David is reunited in eternal peace with his parents Bob and Lucille Tyler; his brother Keith Tyler; his sister-in-law Cindy McCaleb.
David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Elaine Tyler; his sister Glenda Black and her husband Jim; his children, Brandy Snipe (the favorite) & her husband Clint, Brooke Muraca (no, I'm the favorite) & her husband Scott, Jessica Grahmann (y'all are crazy, I'm the favorite) & her husband Greg, and Jeremy Tyler (they stopped at perfection, I'm definitely the favorite) & his wife Kayla. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kaitlynn (the favorite grandchild) & her husband DJ Sweeney, Gracie Snipe & her husband Ty Jordan, Scotty Muraca, Logan Anderson, Tyler Muraca, and Savannah & Adelynn Tyler. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
David was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was a hardworking individual who would give you the shirt off his back. He gave everything for his family and will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 16, 2024, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Santa Fe, TX. There will be a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10am followed by a service at 11am.
