Died on February 3, 2026, in Battle Creek. David was born on March 19, 1946, in Battle Creek, the son of Richard A. and Dorothy M. (Custer) VanDorsten. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Pennfield High School in 1964. David was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Grand Trunk Railroad as a mechanic. He married the former Sandra Whipple who preceded him in death. He was a member of the NRA, he enjoyed working outside in his yard, going to the river and he loved his cats. Surviving is his daughter, Kimberly (Dan) Styer; grandchildren, Keith, Nate and Ellis; brothers, Tim (Brenda) VanDorsten and Todd (Colleen) VanDorsten. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Ted and Tom VanDorsten. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. www.henryfuneralhome.org
