Eugene Adarin Dore, 93, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026. Eugene “Gene” was born on April 30, 1932 in Bad Axe, Michigan the son of Harland and Ruth. He attended Battle Creek Central High School before serving in the US Airforce. After his time serving in the US Airforce Gene attended Frances Harrington Interior Design School. He was previously employed by Imperial Tile & Carpet, BC Tile & Carpet, Wolf Carpet, John Allan Furniture, Jack Meyer Office Equipment and Gene Dore Interiors which ended in his retirement in 1994. He was married to the love of his life, Emily Ann Kaufmann on August 10, 1957 she preceded him in death. Gene had a love for cars which he collected and refurbished in his small paint shop. He was an avid bowler and was proud of his 300 game. He also enjoyed golfing with his grandson David and all his buddies. Gene was a hunter and fisherman, who just enjoyed being outside with family and friends. He is survived by his loving son, Chip (Eugene Harland) and his wife Anita, grandchildren Carla Jo (Daniel) Olguin of Houston, TX., David (Lorena) Dore of Webster, TX., step grandchildren, Ryan (Samantha) Wolf of Battle Creek, Stevi (Trevor) Hegner of Battle Creek, 9 great grandchildren and many other extended family members. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
