Michael L Scherer

Michael Leroy Scherer, 76, passed away in Crystal River, Florida on March 14, 2026. He was born in Marshall, Michigan on November 6, 1949 to Donald and Elsie Scherer. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Crystal River. He was a longtime preacher, and had a Doctrine of Ministry. He loved preaching, teaching, soul-winning, and telling people about Jesus. Because of his faith, many of his family members and friends came to know Jesus. He is survived by his three daughters: Stephanie Smith of Battle Creek, MI, Christina (Austin) Lee of Webster, FL, and Elisabeth (Peter) Putney of Colombia, South America; 21 Grandchildren: David, Jonathon, Tevin, Alize, Jhallilan, Tyler, Stephanie, Brendyn, Tyler, Madelynne, Adreya, Wyatt, Cassidy, Cade, Loralei, Mackenzie, Dahliah, Lydia, Kaylee, Brianna, and Caleb; 11 Great Grandchildren; and siblings: Jean White of Battle Creek, MI, Roger Scherer of Battle Creek, MI, and Annette (Jack) Muckel of Colon, MI. A visitation will be held at Purcell Chapel on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 9am to 10am with the service starting at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery.
