Marjorie Belle Dore

Marjorie Belle Dore (Colpitt), 76, born on August 10, 1949 in Gardiner, ME, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James C. Dore Sr; their daughter, Wendy; her parents, Thomas Colpitt and Marjorie Belle Bailey and her siblings Kevin and Linda.

She is survived by her son James C. Dore Jr. and his wife Lisa L. Dore, her siblings Penny, Alison, Tom and his wife Chris, and her siblings in-law Joan, Elaine and Bill. As well as six grandchildren, Marrissa and her husband Harold, Brittnie and her husband Michael, Kalynn and her husband Mykel, Kent, James and Wayne. As well as ten great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Marge traveled the world with her family during her husband's military service before settling in Somersworth, NH, where she worked for 28 years at Federal Savings Bank. Family was the center of her life, often gathered around her kitchen table enjoying her homemade spaghetti sauce- a treasured tradition and family favorite.

In her spare time, Marge enjoyed reading and crafting many items for her family and friends.

After her husband's passing, she moved to Dalzell, SC, where she spent her remaining years with her son by her side. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, quick wit, kindness, and devotion to family.

Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home located at 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820 on Tuesday May 5, 2026 from 2-3PM followed by the services starting at 3PM. Private burial for family only will be done at the Maine Veterans Cemetery.
