David Vaughn’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. Dave passed away on February 24, 2025 at the age of 75 after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. No services were held as requested by Dave.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dave. He loved relaxing in the mountains and seeing sunsets at the lake. Feeding squirrels and watching them find the food as he watched from the travel trailer. His professional life is a tribute to his ability as an industrial and electrical engineer to apply unique techniques to varied problems. Some of his designs in the industry of his choice are still operating, providing a long service to his customers. He founded his own company DVA, Inc. in 1995 after a long career with his Dad’s company and a nationwide company in Chicago. He had a strong commitment to his family.
Dave is survived by his wife, Laura, and children from his previous marriage; daughters Sharon Buchanan (Jack) and Marsha Taylor (Matt) and his son Kenneth Vaughn; surviving also is his mother, Charlene Vaughn, a sister, Shirley Baker, and two brothers Doug (Melanie) and James (Valerie) plus numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Vaughn and his sister, Linda White.
Dave was a light that shone brightly and left us all too soon. We find comfort in the fact we will see him again. His body has left us but his soul waits for us in heaven.
