David Rudolph Verba, 86, of Porter, Tx. passed away into eternity on Friday, November 17, 2023. The world has lost a truly great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. David was born on August 31, 1937 in Melvindale, Michigan to Florence Louise Verba (Schaufele) and Rudolph Verba.
He played in the high school band, graduating in 1955 from Allen Park High School. David served in the Michigan Air National Guard from 1956 To 1962. He retired June, 1991 from Ford in Detroit, MI, where he was employed as a materials requisitioning and planning agent.
Following David's retirement from Ford, he was employed many times as a tour guide, having traveled several times abroad to Europe and Canada. David enjoyed snow skiing and had many opportunities to ski in various places in the US, Canada and Europe. One of his most favorite things he loved to do was serving as Santa Claus. He had one of the finest Santa outfits you could possibly find. Santa Dave was involved in some of the Detroit Christmas parades and was a much sought after Santa for local Detroit area stores.
David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carole Verba; sons, Andrew Boyher and his wife Lea Boyher of Burlington NC, Mark Boyher of Aliso Viejo CA, and Tim Boyher and his wife Donna Boyher of Atascocita TX; grandchildren, Allison Jones (Boyher) of Cordova TN and Brandon Boyher of League City TX; great grandchildren, Brianna Jones and Bella Jones; nephew, Russel Verba; and niece, Micki Verba Hess-Curtis of Tulsa, OK. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Verba.

Happy heavenly birthday. You are the best step father a girl could have! You touched many people through the years. The best thing my mom did was to marry you. The best you did was the divorce. You & Carole made a very happy loving life. So grateful for that. You were always there to help anyone who needed a hand, asking for nothing in return but just a thank you. Biggest heart a person could have! A life well lived!! ( the obituary was well thought out)
