It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Lee Vick Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on November 28, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Middlesex, North Carolina, on July 22, 1945, David lived a life richly woven with love, dedication, and unwavering strength.
David was a man of remarkable character and immense humility. He devoted countless hours working as a Machine Technician at Buckingham Manufacturing, where his exceptional skills and work ethic earned him the respect of his peers and the admiration of his family. David's nickname was "Super Dave" for his ability to fix anything. Known for his ability to work with his hands, David took great pride in every task he undertook, reflecting his deep commitment to his craft.
Above all, David was a devoted family man. He cherished his role as a husband to his beloved spouse, Debra Hanyon of 43 loving years, and reveled in the joy of being a father to his children, Kaila Vick, David Vick Jr., Rebecca Smith, Renee Vick. His heart was full to overflowing as a grandfather to five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whose laughter and love brought him great happiness. He nurtured his family with kindness and compassion, leaving behind a legacy rich in love and wisdom.
David was preceded in death by: parents Thomas and Clara Vick, Siblings Curtis Vick, Bertis Vick, George Vick, Charles Vick, and Louise Williams.
David's quiet wisdom and humble nature touched the lives of all who knew him. The facts of life, the stories shared, and his generous spirit created a lasting impact within his community and among his family. He was a solid anchor to his family.
As we gather to honor and celebrate David's life, a visitation will be held at DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service 36 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, New York 13903 on December 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to share in a funeral service that will take place at the same location on December 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Following the service, David will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
In this time of remembrance, we hold dear the cherished memories of David Lee Vick Sr. His love continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
