David Viera Obituary
Born on September 27, 1951, in Attleboro, MA., he was the son of the late Anthony and Louise (Elderkin) Viera.
Davey was employed at Brask Enterprises in Attleboro for over 60 years prior to his semi-retirement. He was one of the founding members of the Seekonk Wampanoag tribe and served as war chief for numerous years. Davey took pleasure in antique cars, boating, fishing and hunting. He also relished riding his Harley, and spending quality time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Claudette A. Gillheeney and her husband Sean of East Providence, RI., a sister, Betty Lemieux and her husband Richard of Rehoboth, MA., a brother, Allen Viera and his wife Cheryl of Rehoboth, MA., a brother in-law, Philip Lemieux and his wife Laurinda, and sister in-laws, Helene Lizotte and her husband Donald and Lucille Amaral and her husband Peter. He is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Emma and William Gillheeney, his friend Patricia Sheldon, whom he spent quality time with many nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Jim, Michael, EJ and Manny, as they were like a brother to him. He was the brother of the late Anthony R. Viera and Lois Chaffee and brother in-law of the late Gerry Lemieus and his wife Becky.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend Visitation on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
All are welcome to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Tremont Street in Rehoboth, MA.
