Justina Rose Barrett, lovingly known as "Judy" (Zaino) 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Sippican Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Marion, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Barrett for 62 years.

Born on November 28, 1936, in Attleboro, MA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hedwig "Jennie" (Kiewluk) Zaino. Judy was a long-time communicant of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro.

Judy was a graduate of North Attleboro High School and attended the Boston Beautician and Cosmetology School and proudly took the train into Boston daily to attend classes. She worked as a hairdresser for many years before becoming a homemaker and mother. Cooking was Judy's passion, and she found great joy in preparing delicious meals, especially Italian cuisine, and tempting sweet desserts, while entertaining her friends and family.

Judy was an avid reader, enjoyed all types of music and talk radio shows. She loved to watch all the cooking shows which provided relaxing entertainment for her. She enjoyed watching the waves at the beach and collecting sea glass. Throughout her life she found immense joy in gardening and maintained a hardy vegetable garden and several flower gardens at her home. She also loved to design beautiful arrangements from the flowers grown in her gardens, always seeing the beauty in simple things.

She is survived by her loving children, Elisa Witkus and her husband John from Mashpee, MA., Mark Barrett and his wife Lori from North Attleboro, MA., Edward "Ted" Barrett and his wife Debbie, and Laura DelBonis and her husband John from Wareham, MA., and a devoted sister, Deborah Arns and her late husband, Herman of North Attleboro, MA. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Cline and her husband Steve, Alex Witkus and his wife Annie, Kali Kewley and her husband Anthony, Holly Dusel and her husband Greg, Courtney Amaral and her husband Garrett, Joseph Barrett, Jacqueline Burke and her husband Colin, and dear great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Vivienne Kewley, Amelia and Addison Dusel and Delaney Witkus. She was the sister of the late Mary S. Kay "Tookie."

Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend a Visitation on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 8:30 am until 10:30 am in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home at 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish – St. Mark's Church at 105 Stanley Street, North Attleboro, MA.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, in North Attleboro, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Justina's memory may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105
