David Walker, Jr., age 90, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was a native and resident of Gretna, LA He was a retired Delivery Driver for Carlo Ditta Concrete and Technical Engineering Consultants, Inc. Devoted father of Yolanda W. (Joseph) Ledet, David C. Walker, and Steven M. Walker. Loving grandfather of Iuyana (Tim) Miller, Tashie (Paul) Odom, Jac’Quelle Ledet, Madison, Alexa, and Chloe Walker. Son of the late David Walker, Sr. and Fannie H. Roland. Stepson of the late Thomas Roland. Grandson of the late James Hill, Aldonia Street, Louis and Emma Walker. Beloved brother of Louis Benn, Dora Brumfield, Aldonia (Willie) Harris, and the late Odiel Washington, May Kendell, and Cynthia Benn. Stepbrother of Albert Caine. Nephew of the late Stella Henderson, Sophia Miller, Julia Walker, Aldonia Walker, Clarence Walker, and Louis Walker. Also cherishing his memories are 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
