David Allen Wallace, "Bear" to those who knew and loved him, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2025, at his home in Driftwood, Texas, at the age of 73. Born in Burnet, Texas, on October 10, 1951, David lived a life filled with unwavering love for his family, and friends.
David's kind heart and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many. He was a devoted son, husband, brother, stepfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Martha Vickers Wallace, and his biological father, David A. Riley II.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his devoted second wife, Theresa Brownson Wallace; his parents Bill and Barbara Wallace; his sister, Charlotte Benight and her husband Joe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be deeply missed by his stepdaughters, Monica Goodson and her husband James, and Melissa Welch and her husband Daniel; his nine step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson. His extended family meant the world to him, and he cherished the time spent with them.
A proud Regan High School alumnus, David shared his passions freely, inspiring those around him. His leisure time was often spent on the water, where he excelled as an avid tournament angler and bass fisherman. His love for the sport was only surpassed by his love for his family and their time spent down at the creek.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Driftwood Community Church, located at 15090 Ranch to Market Road 150, Driftwood, Texas. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His unwavering spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed.
