David Weiner

David Weiner, 60, of Lancaster, NH, departed this world on March 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity and kindness.
Born in Baltimore, MD, to Shirley (Rosenberg) and Art Weiner, David spent his childhood first in Wilmington, DE, and later in Virginia Beach, VA. From the 1960s through the 1980s, his parents owned and managed numerous franchises of Weight Watchers in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Throughout his childhood and into his twenties, David worked for the family business. His wit, personality and charm were instrumental in substantially growing Weight Watchers attendance. While endearing and supportive, he was also incredibly kind to members and staff, always focused on uplifting the needs of others.
David was also driven by a creative spirit which guided him to pursue a degree in music and video production at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. From there, he followed a varied career path which ranged from producing and directing a television show about comic books, to owning and running a comic book store, to holding numerous public-facing roles in banking, retail and homebuilding. In the early 2000s, David leaned into his creativity and pursued landscape photography and pet photography, the latter of which ultimately led him to establish his first dog walking business while living near Seattle in 2013. Shortly after moving to New Hampshire in 2020, he created the Lancaster-based dog walking and pet sitting business, The Ministry of Dogs. David is remembered by the North Country community as being a generous, considerate, and dedicated friend and caregiver who adored his clients and their pets.
David was best known for his easy going nature, his disarming wit, and his ability to find humor in all situations. From an early age, he connected easily with others while also setting them at ease, and endeared himself to just about anyone who met him. David was an extraordinary self-taught cook, an attentive and loving husband, a ridiculously funny and extremely creative person. In 2024, buoyed by his positive outlook and irreverent humor, he handily beat non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
David leaves behind his adoring wife of 21 years, Stephanie; their greyhounds Marty McFly and Major Tom; sister Karen; nephews Joshua (Nicole), and Brinton (Paula); grandniece Ravi and grandnephew Seva; aunt Miriam, and many treasured cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation in David's honor to Riverside Animal Rescue in Lunenburg, VT, or Maine Greyhound Placement Service in Augusta, ME, or another pet-oriented organization. In July, two celebrations of David's life will be held in Lancaster, NH and Wilmington, DE.
