MICHAEL WEINER

Michael Howard Weiner, known to family and friends as Mike, a beloved husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Edison, New Jersey, on Friday, January 23rd, at the age of 88.

Born on August 5, 1937, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Mike was raised in Elizabeth as the beloved son of the late Leon and Edith Weiner. From an early age, he was known for his bold character, work ethic, and genuine care for others, qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Mike earned his bachelor's degree from Albright College. Deeply devoted to his country, he served in the National Guard, answering the call to do his part during a pivotal moment in history and reflecting his quiet sense of duty and patriotism.

An entrepreneur at heart, Mike spent his career building relationships and serving his community. He participated in several business ventures, but it was at Michael's Shoes where he truly found his calling. Specializing in men's big-size footwear, Mike created a niche that allowed him to combine his business instincts with his sincere desire to help others. The store was where Mike was most at home, engaging with customers, listening, and always striving to do what was in their best interest. His kindness, integrity, and personal attention left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through the door. Mike dedicated over 50 years to his career before retiring, a testament to his tireless work ethic and passion for what he did.

Above all else, Mike loved his family deeply. He shared more than 65 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Diana, and devoted his life to supporting and bettering those around him, always placing the needs of others before his own. He was a proud and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Mike was also an avid sports fan, with a lifelong love for the New York Jets and the New York Mets. He had a special affection for the underdog and carried that spirit into all aspects of his life. He enjoyed basketball, swimming, playing softball and was an active member of a league for many years, finding joy in both competition and camaraderie.

In his final days, Mike was lovingly cared for by Joselyn, and the family extends their heartfelt gratitude for her compassion, dedication, and support.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Weiner, his sons Todd Weiner and his wife Cathy, David Weiner and his wife Eva, his bonus son by choice, Stanley Louissaint and his cherished grandchildren Samuel Weiner, Jayson Weiner, Emily Weiner and Jake Weiner. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on through them and through the countless lives he touched.
