David William Wennen, 80, of Hibbing, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Duluth. He was born in June of 1945, to Leslie and Vione (Randall) Wennen in Hibbing, MN.
David graduated from Hibbing High School in 1963. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served for 3 years. He went on to become an electrician after attending two years of trade school at Hibbing Vocational Technical College. David worked at Hibbing Taconite until retirement. During those years, he met his wife, Jeannette “Jan” LeDoux, and they got married on July 31, 1971, starting their family together.
David is survived by his wife, his children, Cheri (Tom Ramsdell) Melville and Dani(Derek) Mugge; his siblings, Donny (Penny) Wennen, Richard (Marcia) Wennen, Diane (Harlan) Hall, and Linda Johnson; and his grandchildren, Ryan (Brittany Jo Hoyt) McVitty, Gavin, Gage, and Huntyr Mugge. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of Life will be held in David’s honor at a later date.
