David J. Wescoat, 88, of Titusville, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Oakwoods Heights Village in Oil City after an extended illness.
Dave was born on August 23, 1937, in Titusville to the late Walter A. "Tim" and Daisy M. Bloss Wescoat. He married Faye D. McCann on November 23, 1981. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2018.
Dave was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, Class of 1954. While in school, he played on the baseball and basketball teams.
In his earlier years, he worked for Wolf's Head Oil Co. and the Crawford Co. Sheriff's Dept. He later bought Wescoat Excavating from his brother, Red, in 1968. He also worked as a Titusville Auxiliary Police Officer.
Dave was a member of the Titusville Lodge No. 754 F&AM; a member of the Oil City Lodge of Perfection; a member of the New Castle Consistory; a member of the Zem Zem Shrine of Erie; and of the Colonel Drake Shrine Club, and was a member of the fire police for Hydetown Volunteer Fire Dept.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and the organ, listening to music, and bowling. He loved his family and appreciated the time spent with them.
Dave is survived by his children, Randall H. Wescoat and wife Connie of Titusville, Lori Blair and husband Rob of Centerville, and Tammie Richard and husband Tim of Pleasantville; 7 grandchildren, Tyler Richard and wife Joanna of Warren, David Wescoat and wife Victoria of Pleasantville, Max Blair and wife Brandy of Centerville, Niki Presto and husband Brandon of Houston, PA., Austin Wescoat and wife Laurel of Tionesta, Andrew Wescoat and wife Kelsee of Titusville, and Joe Richard of Pleasantville; great grandchildren, Wesley, Bennett, Marcella, Charlotte, Lucia, Mclane, Hayes, Kendall, Cameron, Alec, McKynlee, Nolyn, Walyn, Dekyn, Bowyn, Aidan, Mila, and Fin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Marion N. "Red" Wescoat, and Walter A. "Skeeter" Wescoat Jr.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc., 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, on Monday, December 22nd, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon, at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Bill Hopkins officiating.

Interment will be at Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
