David Westbrook, 91, went to his Heavenly home on January 14, 2026. He was born December 19, 1934, in Trenton, Mississippi, to Wallace and Ethel Westbrook.
David and his wife, Ruth, lived all over the country while he was employed by the U.S. Forest Service, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement, all while being in the U.S. Air Force for 39 years, where he served as a Chief Master Sergeant. He has an award named in his honor, the David Westbrook Award, which is given to an Airman each year for their outstanding contributions to civic, cultural and professional activities within their military and civilian communities.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth Westbrook, five sisters, six brothers, and two sons, Scott Westbrook and Mitchell Westbrook.
He is survived by his daughter, Vikki (Bob) Ziajor; his son David (Catherine) Westbrook Jr.; grandchildren Leigh (Jay) Hall, Jacob Hunter, Wes Westbrook, and Brittany Westbrook; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas.
