Mr. David Lamont Whichard, also known as "Mummy", passed away peacefully at Vidant Hospice Care iof Greenville, N. C., on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
David was born on March 28, 1957 to the late David Lee Whichard and Mildred Jenkins Whichard of Greenville, NC. He attended Pitt County Schools and graduated with the Eppes High Class of 1975.
David is a veteran of the United States Army, served his country for three years, and was Honorably Discharged. He later moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked at Beltsville Plastic, did security work, and also employed as an assistant brick mason. David loved to have fun and will truly be missed.
David leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Davette Lamonica Whichard, three granddaughters, Shania Navae Stocks, Kyndall Savannah Whichard, and Layla Monae Whichard, all of Greenville, NC.,
three sisters, Brenda W. Coggins, Sandra Barrett (Bobby), both of Greenville, NC, and Joyce Whitehurst (Curtis) of Baltimore, MD, two brothers Mitchell Whichard of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Milton Whichard of Greenville, N. C., two aunts, Joyce Jenkins and Ruby Mae Jenkins, both of Greenville, N. C., uncle, John Henry Jenkins of California, a special nephew, Wyatt Whichard of Greenville, N. C., special niece, Malakia Whitehurst of Baltimore, MD, a very dear and loyal friend, Lillie (Lil) Holmes of Baltimore, MD, other nieces, Petula, Tenesha, Nikita, and Malakia, other nephews, Wyatt, Danian, Krathon, Harold, Bobby Ray, Marcus, and Eric, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
David Lamont Whichard, also known as "Mummy" will be greatly missed!
