With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Columbus L. Davis Sr. aka "Big Red" and "Big C", who was called from labor to reward, on August 16, 2025, at ECU Heath Medical Center, on his 45th Wedding Anniversary. Surrounded by family and hospital staff, he peacefully transitioned from this life at the age of 74.

Born in Pitt Conty, North Carolina on May 21,1951, Columbus was the beloved son of the late Rudolph and Mandy Louise Davis. He spent his formative years in Farmville, North Carolina before moving to Bronx, New York, where he later built a life of more love and memories. Columbus graduated from Farmville Central High School, where he develped a lifelong love for football, a sport he enjoyed both as a player and as a fan. He worked at Rubin Brothers in Bronx, New York for 30 years, before retiring and relocating back to his home in Greenville, North Carolina.

In 1977, Columbus met the love of his life, Lou-Ann, and they married on August 16, 1980. Their union was blessed with three children, Columbus, Luchannia, and Georgianna, all of whom he cherished deeply. In 2017 Columbus joined his wife in attendance at First Union/Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Bronx, New York. He was baptized on May 21, 2017, where he served as a devoted Deacon, alongside Reverend Dr. James E. Wilson, Jr. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through his many roles as a husband, father, and friend.

He loving wife, leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 45 years, Lou-Ann, his son, Columbus E. Davis (Courtney Lynn), of New Jersey, daughters, Luchannia Davis and Georgianna Davis both of Greensboro, NC, and his grandpup, "King Bronx". He is survived by four brothers, Rudolph Davis Jr. (Esther), Willie L. Davis (Jennifer), both of Farmville, North Carolina, Ben Davis (Carol) of Winterville, N.C. and Carl Davis (Barbara) of Greenwood IN, three sisters, Mary Murphy (William) of Greensboro, N.C., Laura Newton and Mollie Davis, both of Farmville, North Carolina, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Columbus leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that his work on earth is done, and he is now resting in Eternal Peace.
