David was a professor at the Citadel when I was a brand-new hire on a temporary appointment. I appreciated him very much As a fellow Marine, friendly mentor, and Christian gentleman, not to mention a great teacher and example for the cadets. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

So sad to hear of David's passing. It was always a treat seeing him on the once or twice a year visits to Charlotte. And the history books he gave me for Christmas. Can't forget those. We will see you Thursday.
