David Franklin White Junior (known to all as DJ White) passed away in the early morning of March 13, 2026, surrounded by family and the best group of (those know how he referred to them) that he called friends/family. DJ was 49 years old and resided in Mooresville, North Carolina. His death was sudden and unexpected, due to complications arising out of Melanoma cancer.
DJ White was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 23, 1976, and only child to Joan and David White who preceded him in death. He was an energetic, charismatic child, which followed him to adulthood. He loved to play basketball and played from his youth through High School where he played on the Varsity Team for Central Cabarrus High School. He also performed in the high school marching band, playing the “sexy-phone” (his words). DJ White attended UNC Charlotte after graduating high school. He majored in finance and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After college, DJ worked for many years with Blockbuster Pavillion (now Trueliant Amphitheater) and transitioned to the restoration/construction industry with Stone Restoration of America. From there, he advanced to Niagra Machine and has been there for 14 years. At one point, he served as President of the Waterproofing Contractors Association, and the founder of LDC Carolando. DJ was the party; he had a big personality and was cherished and adored by all the people he met. He had a passion for music, concerts, bourbon, video games, and especially loved spending time with friends he called family; he will be Forever 49.
DJ White is survived by his fiancé, April Rollins and her three children, Sawyer, Savannah, and Hunter; Uncle Danny (his mother’s brother), Aunt Debi (his father’s sister), and Uncle Daniel (his father’s brother), Aunt Dorty, Aunt Dixie, and Aunt Dianne.
The visitation service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 12:30pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park of Harrisburg.
