As a young police cadet in the early 1970's, I had occasion to work with Dave a great deal. Dave taught me many a lesson which I drew upon during my years as a peace officer. His kindness and wisdom I will greatly miss.

David was my big brother. A couple of my favorite memories is him winning a bike at Saline county fair and bringing it home and giving it to my brother Riley and me. Another good memory is of him making corn meal mush for those that wanted it if he was making it for himself. Per moms orders.Lol. Also getting to spend a week with him and his family when I was 13. I had such a good visit. He was a great Dad to his little ones and a wonderful big brother. And a wonderful, happy husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to his kids ,grandkids and great grandkids for comfort and strength in this time of need. So glad his heavenly body will be restrord to perfection, no sorrow,no tears, no pain anymore. Having a good cup of coffee with his sisters and our brothers and our Mom. I'll miss you brother till we met again. Love you all here and those in heaven. Janet

I remember Uncle David as such a wonderful and kind man. A wonderful Uncle to all of us. The last time Rick and I had seen him was at George & Sue's a few years ago. We have another Angel watching over the family.

I remember Uncle David teaching me to shoot his pistol. He was the major reason I became a cop in Fla. I will always remember him and Love him. We will meet again.

I was fortunate to serve with Dave at BCPD. The picture with that broad smile was appropriate, since it is hard to imagine him without it.
Dave was a hard worker, always volunteering to help everyone. I think his willingness to pitch in led him to become our union president. His integrity and calm demeanor made him very effective in everything he did.
My sincere condolences to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. You have so much to be proud of.
