David Harold Wilfred Hasson, age 69, passed suddenly on May 6, 2025 at his home in Corona Del Mar, California.
Born August 7, 1955 in the town of Kingsville, Ontario, Canada to Harold and Vera Hasson, David was the youngest of 5 siblings. David graduated from Kingsville District High School, received a Bachelor's of Commerce from the University of Windsor, and a Master's in Business Administration from Northwestern University.
David married Elizabeth Marie Schloemer on October 12, 1985. Together they raised two sons, Ian and James. David was known for his love of family, charismatic personality, artistic talent, proud Canadian roots, and his relentless work ethic. David enjoyed a successful career as an International Tax Executive, working for Touche Ross, Price Waterhouse, GE Medical Systems, Limited Brands, Bausch & Lomb, TE Connectivity, and Borg Warner.
David will be remembered as an avid hockey fan, who loved cheering on his Toronto Maple Leafs almost as much as he enjoyed cheering and coaching his two sons. In retirement, David spent his days creating intricate wood burnings, volunteering with his spouse, and hosting family dinners where good cuts of meat were paired with even better wines.
David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth; children Ian (Lauren) and James; grandchildren Charlotte and Jeremy; brother Daniel (Jean) Hasson; sisters Gloria (Henry) Oostenbrug and Barbara (John) LaPointe. He was preceded in death by older brother Bruce (Joyce) Hasson.
In accordance with the family's wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Donations in lieu of gifts or flowers may be made in David's name to Leader Dogs for the Blind at Leaderdog.org
