David Ray Williams, Our Beloved Ray, Daddy, Pawpaw, Poppy 86 of Sweetwater went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Oldest of 6 children born to David Eugene and Leda Mae Williams on November 4, 1939 in Alvard, TX.

David was Married 65 years to Glenda. He traveled the world pipefitting and retiring from Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant in Arizona. He will be remembered for his life, his presence in the Sweetwater community, and the time he shared with family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his Brothers: Wayne Williams and late wife Brenda, Jackie Williams and wife Sandy of Marble Falls; Sisters: Pat Pinkerton and husband Jack, JoAnn painter and late husband Norman, Tina Beckwith and husband Guy; Children: Shane Williams and wife April of Odessa, Kelly and husband Wayne Sorrells; Grandchildren: Late Joni Sorrells children Max Ferguson and Kruze Baack, Misty Muncy and husband Cody children Garrett Muncy wife Paeton and son Jetson, Levi Muncy, Ty Muncy and Drew Muncy, David Lee Williams wife Tiffany and daughter Meadow; Brother & Sister in Law: Dan and Marti Way of Tucson Arizona; Too Many Nieces & Nephews to name but all loved and Many long time friends made along the way.

He was preceded in death by Parents: Jack and Leta Mae Williams, Sister in laws: Brenda Williams, Valrie Lawler of Phoenix, Arizona, Brother in law: Norman Painter, In laws: Allie G Lawler and wife Martha Rachel and Granddaughter: Joni Sorrells.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.

Graveside services will be held at Sweetwater Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Following the graveside service, a memorial service will be held at the Church of God, located on 4th and Pine Street in Sweetwater, Texas.

Pallbearers will be his Great Grandsons Garrett, Levi, Ty Lane and Drew Muncy, Max Ferguson, Kruze Baack.
