David Lee Williamson, a dedicated mechanic and cherished member of his community, passed away on November 4, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 1, 1968, in Mecklenburg County and spent his life embodying the values of hard work and loyalty.
David's career as a mechanic was not just a profession but a passion he embraced wholeheartedly. His skills and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike, marking him as a trusted figure in the automotive community. Beyond his profession, David's life was rich with involvement and commitment to his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Michell Williamson, and their son, Michael Williamson, both of Stanley. David’s legacy also includes his 5 grandchildren, Cheyenne Southard, Brayden Southard, Troy Southard, Eleanor Southard, and Jamison Southard; siblings: Sharon Stone (Lee) of Mount Holly, Cindy Tadlock (Steve) of Belmont, and Kenneth Williamson of Stanley. He was a beloved uncle and cousin, remembered fondly by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous great friends who held him dear.
David held many proud accomplishments, among them being a Master Mason and a respected member of Gaston Masonic Lodge #263. He was also a lifetime member of the CBA, reflecting his dedication to service and community.
He is preceded in death by his son, Cody Southard; his mother, Lila Carter; and his father, Bob Carter. David's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Services, 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the hospice nurses, physicians, and staff, and their beloved friends for their unwavering compassionate and supportive care that was provided. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
