Rev. Dr. David Louis Williamson

Rev. Dr. David Louis Williamson, beloved child of God, devoted husband, cherished father and grandfather, trusted pastor, and dear friend, passed away on February 23, 2026. He was born on November 27, 1937, in Minneapolis to Bill and Hazel Williamson.

David's life was shaped by his deep faith. He graduated from Minnehaha Academy, the University of Minnesota, Fuller Seminary, and Luther Seminary. His ministry took him to Meetinghouse Church (formerly Colonial Church of Edina), First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, and Laity Lodge in Texas-places where he poured himself into teaching, writing, counseling, and crafting creative programs that helped others experience God in meaningful ways.

While on Young Life staff in Chicago, he met the love of his life, Anne, and together they shared 62 years of marriage marked by tenderness, laughter, partnership, and unwavering devotion. David's gentle spirit, often reflected in his kind blue eyes, made him a source of comfort, wisdom, and joy to all who knew him.

He delighted in skiing, exploring the world, tending his garden, golfing, celebrating Swedish traditions, and spending time with family. He loved gathering people, creating connections, and bringing warmth to all.

David is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Mark Williamson (Lauren O'Brien), Suzanne Kickhaefer (Kevin), and Sara Zimmerman; Mark's children, Elizabeth, Charlie, Shif, and Deme; Suzanne's children, Ty and Chase; Sara's children, Sam and Lucy; Lauren's children, Zachary and Madeleine; brother-in-law Charles Schelke (Linda); nephew Matt Schelke (Susan); and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Anselm House, Young Life Minneapolis North, Meetinghouse Church, or Grace Hospice. Our family is deeply grateful to the Grace Hospice team for the exceptional care and compassion they provided during his final months.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, at Meetinghouse Church, 6200 Colonial Way, Edina. Gathering will begin one hour prior to the service, with a reception following the service.
