Alan D. Williamson, 79, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. (Skellett) Williamson, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage, and the son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Dornlas) Williamson.
Alan was born in Norwood on July 20,1946. He graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree and went on to study business at Northeastern University. Alan spent his career working in sales, traveling throughout the country. He worked for Applause, specializing in plush toys, and in real estate at his family owned business, Williamson Realty Company.
Alan cherished his family above all else. Whether he was preparing for holidays or hosting backyard barbeques, he found joy in bringing everyone together and making each celebration special. He was a generous and thoughtful man, known for the meaningful gifts he would pick up during his travels. Alan was a huge animal lover. He treasured all of the furry companions that he had throughout his life.
Alan's love of boating began at the age of twelve. He always owned a boat named Lil Willy, which he used for fishing, waterskiing and camping adventures with friends and family. Alan and Dorothy also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Orlando, Florida where they created lasting memories with their family at Walt Disney World. Alan never missed the chance to stop at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
In addition to his loving wife Dorothy, Alan is survived by his children: Alan Williamson and his wife Khate of Plymouth; Mary Toomey and her husband Mark of Middleboro; Edward "Ted" Williamson and his wife JuYoung of Scituate; Timothy Williamson and his wife Kim of Marshfield; Scott Williamson and his wife Kristin of Chelmsford; Christopher Williamson and his wife Deana of Marshfield; Michael Forgione of Duxbury; and Kevin Forgione of Henderson, Nevada. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Williamson and his wife Pauline of West Bridgewater.
He also leaves his dear grandchildren: Connor, Sean, Angie, Timmy, Haley, Tommy, Tessa, Nora, Brinley, Ian, Logan, Drew, Daniel, Ava and Jake; and his great-grandson, Hunter Toomey. He was predeceased by his siblings June Gianone, Bill, Ronald and John Williamson.
Visitation with the Williamson family will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the CARTMELL – DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet) MA. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 10:30AM at St. Bonaventure Parish, 803 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet) MA.
