David Leroy Wixom, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on November 24th, 2023, at the age of 80.
David was born April 13th, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Russell Leroy Wixom and Thelma Pugsley. He was the oldest of ten children and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. David was raised in Clearfield, Utah, and graduated from Davis High School. He started his printing career at Deseret News and later worked in the printing department at HAFB. After retiring, he worked doing housing maintenance at HAFB and the BOC Corp.
David married Cassandra Jones in 1963 and had two daughters. They later divorced. He met and married AlDean Nalder in 1970 and had three more children. David loved going hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing.
David is preceded in death by his loving wife AlDean, his parents, one sister, and three great-grandchildren. David is survived by his children, Tammy Cevering, Michelle (Bernie) Bickerton, Mike (Janae) Wixom, Margaret (Bob) Hamblin, and Mitch (Sandy) Wixom, 13 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Evergreen Chapel, 2435 E. Canyon Rim Drive, Layton, Utah.
An evening viewing will be held Friday, December 1st, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 1585 West 300 South, Syracuse, Utah.
Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin 10-15 minutes before services and will be posted below.
