Obituary of David C. Wordell

David Carl Wordell, age 69, of Yardley, PA, formerly of Media, PA, died on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Fox Subacute Rehab, South Philadelphia, PA.

He was born on September 30, 1956. Dave received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science; ASHP Accredited Residency in Hospital Pharmacy at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. He was also a Microsoft Certified Software Engineer.

Dave worked at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as Senior Analyst for the Department of Pharmacy having retired in 2019.

He was a member of the First Church Media, PA, and previously Mount Hope United Methodist Church in Aston, PA.

Dave was an Eagle Scout member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the rifle team in college winning several awards for his shooting skills. His hobbies included developing niche software applications, cooking through which he developed several original recipes that were shared with family and friends. He loved traveling with family to the Caribbean for relaxation, including trips for snorkeling and scuba diving. He was a certified diver. Dave enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and two Grandfather Clocks. He was a member of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Donor Society since 2004 supporting their role as a living history museum.

Son of the late Carl Wordell.

Wife of 45 years Cindy (Jacoby) Wordell

Mother: Marjorie Wordell, Morrisville, NC

Daughter: Elizabeth (Scott) Ferrante of Washington Crossing, PA

Granddaughters: Caroline and Charlotte Ferrante

Sister: Constance (Steven) Crimmins of North Carolina

Niece: Sarah Crimmins

Nephew: Thomas Crimmins

Visitation: Friday, February 27 th after 11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Friday, February 27 th at 12:30PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (www.myotonic.org)
