Earl Ekas Obituary
Earl Ekas, beloved father and husband, passed away on February 11th, 2026 at the age of 72. A life-long Pennsylvanian, Earl was born and raised in Culmerville, PA. He attended local Westminster College, and, after graduating, moved to Philadelphia where he married his wife of 35 years, Mary Platt. Earl had a successful 35 year career as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. In 1995, Earl and Mary moved to Newtown Square to raise their family.
Within and beyond his work, Earl was known for his genuine warmth, his humor, and his storytelling. He enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, sailing, hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Henry Ekas and Hannah Hepler Ekas.
Earl is survived by his wife, Mary, and his children, Eric and Katherine Ekas.
Visitation: Thursday, February 19th after 1:30PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte.#352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
Funeral Service: Thursday, February 19th at 2:30PM at the funeral home.
Interment: Media Cemetery.
