Retired Brockton Police Sergeant David A Wright, 79, of Land O'Lakes, Florida passed away unexpectedly on November 10th 2023.
He was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, the son of Albert and Louise Wright. He was a graduate of Massasoit Community College and Roger Williams University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He was appointed to the Brockton police department in 1966 and was promoted to Sergeant in 1984. In 1967 he met his wife, Deborah (Geiler) Wright while they were both working at the Brockton Fair.
They were married on November 14th, 1969. Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Darrelyn (Wright) Jordan of Raynham, MA. and Danie Wright of Land O Lakes, FL. He was the proud "BamBam" of Sydney and Jack Jordan of Raynham, MA. He was also the brother of Gary Wright (Susan) of Cape Coral, Florida. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Erik Jordan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00AM-11:00AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
Donations in David's memory may be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House, two of his favorite charities.
