Obituary published on Legacy.com by Russell & Pica Funeral Home - Brockton from Jul. 14 to Jul. 15, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Konstantina "Tina" Tsarhopoulos, 87, of
Brockton, Massachusetts, who passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 1, 1938, in the village of Klima in the Kozani region of Greece, Konstantina was the beloved daughter of Stergios and Paraskevoula Golas and the youngest of eleven children. From a young age, she was determined and driven, following in the footsteps of her aunt who had immigrated to America. In 1956, at the age of 18, she immigrated to the United States with her brother, Nikolas Golas, traveling together by ship. Eager to succeed, Konstantina worked as a seamstress while attending night school to learn English, proving her perseverance and strength of character.
In 1962, Konstantina returned to Greece, where she met and married the love of her life, Paul Tsarhopoulos. Together they returned to the United States, where they raised their family in Brockton. For more than 60 years, Konstantina and Paul worked side by side, building a successful real estate business while creating a warm and loving home rooted in faith, resilience, and hard work.
Konstantina was an extraordinary woman-quick-witted, strong-willed, elegant, and deeply generous. She loved to laugh, her timing was always perfect, and her radiant smile lit up every room. A true lady who carried herself with grace, she was also tough and determined, encouraging others to never give up.
She was a devoted member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Brockton, where she served faithfully in the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptohos Society. She was also an active member of the Ladies Pan Macedonian Association during its years of activity at the church. She gave generously of her time and talents, especially during the church's annual festival, where she prepared and sold pastries and traditional foods. When the music began, Konstantina could often be seen Greek line dancing with friends and family, her joy shining brightly.
She lived life fully and found great joy in simple pleasures. Konstantina loved the sun-tending to her beautiful flowers, sitting on the back deck, and spending time at the beach. She enjoyed many trips with Paul to Onset, where they walked along the shore together, and she cherished their travels to Clearwater, Florida, in years past to enjoy the beach, sunshine, and the company of dear relatives. With her husband and children, Konstantina also returned often to her beloved homeland of Greece, where she delighted in the slower pace of life and the embrace of her cherished extended family.
For more than six decades, she shared her delicious homemade baked goods with countless people - realtors, bank and city employees, neighbors, and friends old and new. She also took great pride in her flowers, especially the vibrant pink and white impatiens she lovingly tended each summer. Always an animal lover, her beloved cats brought her daily joy and laughter.
Above all, Konstantina was most proud to be a mother and to have a family. Though she accomplished so much in life alongside Paul, nothing brought her more joy or fulfillment than her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always there for her family-ready to cook, comfort, laugh, cry, or give her opinion with loving support. Her children knew that they were everything to her, and in the same way, their mother was, and always will be everything to them.
Konstantina leaves behind her devoted husband of 63 years, Paul Tsarhopoulos, and their four children: Cynthia Tsarhopoulos, Patricia Tsarhopoulos, Elenie Tsarhopoulos and her husband Stephen Shapiro, and Nick Tsarhopoulos. She was endlessly proud of her grandson, Forrest Tsarhopoulos, the light of her life. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews in both the United States and Greece.
Her memory will be forever treasured by her family, her church, her community, and the many lives she touched with her love, laughter, and generosity.
May her memory be eternal.
