David Wright at the age of 92 passed away on November 5, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on May 20, 1933 in Cottonwood Height, Utah to David Milton Wright and Priscilla Pearl Bronse.
He married three beautiful women Barbara, Christy, and Betty. Born and raised in Millcreek Canyon, he developed a deep love for the mountains that stayed with him throughout his life. He helped his father build the family cabin in Millcreek Canyon and later built one of his own—a place where many cherished memories were made with family and friends.
He enjoyed a lifetime of outdoor adventures, hunting and fishing alongside his many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. His love for nature and the canyon where he grew up shaped who he was and how he lived.
David dedicated over 40 years of service to Utah Power and Light, where he made countless lifelong friends. He retired at the age of 54, which allowed him to spend more time doing what he loved most—being with family and friends. Whether it was relaxing at Flaming Gorge, enjoying time at the cabin, tailgating at University of Utah football games, or dancing the night away at Rascals, he lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by his four children: Veldon (Pam) Wright, Debra (Kenny), Duwayne (Annie), and Jerry (Shelly); his grandchildren Derick (Rose), Rachel (Casey), Shane, Joshua (TaNiesha), Jennifer, Camille (Gary), Angie, Heather, Jeremy (Alex), Jillian, and Bryce; and his great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Sophie, Bronson, Bryce, Faith, Ethan, Audrey, Angel, Anna, Dominic, Nevaeh, Anthony, Ramon, Marcus, Sienna, Rosalita, Niko, and Damiko.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Wright; his parents, Dave and Pearl Wright; and his granddaughter, Christine Wright.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with a viewing at 10:30 AM at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Boulevard), Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
His warmth, laughter, and love for the outdoors will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
