David Michael Zinkie, 67, of LaGrange, IN died September 24, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident while riding his motorcycle.

His family sends thanks to all those involved in trying to save his life. May God bless you.

David was born on January 8, 1958, in Toledo, OH to Jesse Leo and Mary Mardell (Worstell) Zinkie.

A LaGrange County resident, he retired from Abbot Labs in Sturgis, MI where he worked in mechanical maintenance. He would attend Clark Memorial Church in Elkhart, IN where both his parents served. He was a member of the Indiana Archeological Society. He enjoyed golf, boating, artifact digs, history and he was a collector of fine art and antiques.

David had a spirit for life. He experienced joy when he was with his family and when riding his motorcycles. He shared many of these joys with his grandson, Nikko.

Mr. Zinkie was a United States Navy Veteran serving in many areas around the world.

On August 8, 2015, in Elkhart, IN he married the love of his life Dimples Danlog; Mrs. Zinkie survives in LaGrange.

Also surviving is a daughter, Diane Setero of South Bend, IN; two grandsons, Nikko Graham and Luca Fritz-Setero; his siblings, Daniel and Nancy Zinkie of Elkhart, IN, Belinda (Bill) Williams of Gainesville, GA; sister-in-laws, Vergie Wilson of South Bend, IN, Gayle Wilson of South Bend, IN; and many nieces and nephews that he loved and who love him.

Preceding him in death was his father, Jesse L. Zinkie; his mother, Mary Mardell Wilson; step-father, Clyde Wilson; and brothers, Mark and Bradd Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Dallas Lake Park Lodge, 505 W 700 S, Wolcottville, IN on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 am until the memorial service begins at 12:00 pm. Following the service there will be a time of food and fellowship. The LaGrange American Legion will present military rites.

Burial will take place privately at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.
