Davis Armand Doss

Mr. Davis Armand "Dave" Doss, Sr., 76, passed away at his residence on May 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Waycross, GA, Dave grew up in Brunswick and obtained his Associate's Degree from the Coastal Georgia College. He worked for Delta Airlines until 1976 when he began work with Georgia Power in Eatonton, and in 1987 he relocated to work for a Southern Company at Plant Vogtle. He enjoyed hunting with his family on his son's land and golfing with his good friend, Ken Wagers. Much like his father, Dave had a garden that he was always tending to. In his 20s, he enjoyed piloting his own plane. He loved watching NASCAR and UGA football, and especially the time spent taking his wife, children, and grandchildren on family vacations. He was a member of the Believers Church of Sylvania. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Terri Doss, his children, Davey (Dana) Doss, Ali (Jeremy) Taylor, and Katherine "Kit" (Donny) Thompson, all of Sylvania, a brother, Ken Marshall (Donna) Doss of Brunswick, grandchildren, Bo Doss, Lilly Doss, Kennedi Taylor, Brody Taylor, Tyler Thompson, Cody Thompson, and Riley Thompson, with one great-grandchild on the way. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Believers Church of Sylvania with Pastor Clint Williams officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bo Doss, Tyler Thompson, Cody Thompson, Brody Taylor, Donny Thompson, and Jeremy Taylor.
