Oh, my heart is breaking!
I´ll never forget, I think it was my junior year in chapel.
We were all singing hymns and after we were done Andy turned around to me and said: "Bonnie, you have a beautiful voice!" I replied, "I do?"
I credit him with that sweet and supportive comment for my undertaking the long, devoted task of studying and developing my singing voice.
Living in Sonoma County California, I have been a semi professional singer since I was in my 20s. I have sung with the San Francisco Opera Chorus, as well as releasing a vocal jazz CD in 2012 called, "You Are the Song in Me." I will be releasing a new album in my 70th year, fall of 2027. It will be called "Seasons of the Soul." The songs are covers of pieces that have and still touch my heart and soul. I feel like Andy was part of my gift, a gift was responsible for giving me.
I was given an incredible gift of eventually being able to open hearts and move souls with my singing voice.
I feel so grateful to him and blessed to have been his friend and given this sacred gift!
I joined the Lovett choir and auditioned for the musical my senior year. I got a small part in the musical, do you remember? "Spoon River Anthology." I had my first solo singing part and I was terrified!
Anne Curry had already been developing her voice and also sang in this musical. I remember looking up to her so much!
Andy was such a gentle soul and such an earnestly sweet young man!
He reminded me of a big, warm and snuggly bear that wanted to hug everyone and protect them!
His obituary is a testament to the kind of man he was! I know his family is so proud of him and will have so many beautiful memories of their dad, granddad, sister, and brother!
Thank you Alison for always keeping us updated on the joyous and sad events of our lives.
With love,
Bonnie

Such sad news to read of Andy's passing. I always called him Andrew for some reason and I think he enjoyed that. There is no more genuine, dedicated and recognizably committed friend one could ask for. I have a feeling that there is much Bairstow and Brindell banter going on in heaven at the moment....
