Andy Bairstow

MR. ANDREW "ANDY" QUINN BAIRSTOW, SR., age 69, of Sandy Springs, GA passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at his residence.
Graveside Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM Monday, August 18, 2025, at Orphans Cemetery in the Stuckey family plot, with Rev. Rick Hamilton officiating. In the coming days a life celebration will be held at The Cherokee Town Club in Buckhead Community of Atlanta.
Andy was born in Atlanta, GA on August 23, 1955, to the late Rosina Horigan Bairstow and Robert Wright "Bob" Bairstow, Sr. He attended Christ the King grade school before attending Marist and Lovett high schools. Andy lettered in football at both schools. While attending UGA, Andy met the love of his life, Lowe Stuckey. Lowe's brother, Franklin, introduced them at UGA late registration in 1977. They have been married for over 44 years. Andy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia in 1982 where he was a proud member of the Chi Phi fraternity. After college, Andy went on to become a business owner of the family business, Bairstow Lifting Products Company, which his father Bob Bairstow started in 1960. Andy and Lowe had three children together, Andrew, Will, and Tommy who they raised in Sandy Springs, GA. They also have four grandchildren, Liam, Rosina, Cal, and Nolan. Andy was a valued member of the community and attended Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. He was an assistant scout master for Troop 463. Andy was an eagle scout, like his father, Bob Bairstow. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether camping or hiking at Vogel State Park. He enjoyed spending summers at Lake Rabun and Lake Lanier. While at the lake, Andy enjoyed skiing, boating and tubing. As a business owner, and advocate, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp recognized Andy as an advocate of the Georgia Utility Contractors association. He also loved sports and attending Falcons, Braves, and UGA games. Andy enjoyed grilling for his family and friends and was known in the Riverside community in Sandy Springs for grilling hundreds of hot dogs each year for neighborhood Halloween party. Andy loved to grill and amassed a small collection of Weber grills. Andy was a kind, hardworking, and respectful man. He was quick to lend a helping hand to strangers. Andy was always active running the Peachtree Road race on the Fourth of July and encouraged his family to be active by volunteering as a soccer or baseball assistant coach at Northside Youth Association at Chastain Park. He had a close business relationship with the Georgia Utility Contractors Association. He loved to attend annual Christmas "Humbug" parties. He loved traveling with his family to Eastman, Ga to stop at the Stuckey's store, as every trip's a pleasure trip when you stop at Stuckey's. He also enjoyed vacationing in St. Simons Island, GA, and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. During his life he took many wonderful trips, whether it was Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida, or skiing in Colorado. Andy and Lowe also enjoyed spending time on their boat at Baldridge Marina, with dock mates. He loved golf and attended many Masters Tournaments with his family, parents, and In-laws.
Our hearts may be breaking because we lost our beloved husband, father, "grandy", brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Yet our hearts will always be beating with his rhythm of life he brought to our lives. He cared for us deeply, devotedly, and tenderly through the good times and the not so good times. He was our leader always. May he rest in the peace he deserves, our faithful Andy. He was our leader always. He stayed strong up until his very last breath because he was protecting us always.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his Sister, Rosina Bairstow Seydel, Mother and Father-in-law, Ann and Frank Stuckey, and Brothers-in-law, Doug Aldridge and Sid Seydel.
He is survived by his Wife of 44 years – Lowe Stuckey Bairstow of Sandy Springs, GA; 3 Sons – Andrew Quinn Bairstow, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Atlanta, GA, William Wright "Will" Bairstow (Megan) of Mableton, GA, and Thomas Hardman "Tommy" Bairstow (Laura) of Grass Valley, CA; Grandchildren – Liam Bairstow, Rosina Bairstow, Callan Bairstow, and Nolan Bairstow; Sisters – Betsy Bairstow (Dan Morse) of Atlanta, GA and Lael Yudain of The Villages, FL; Sisters-in-law – Marthan "Mopsy" Stuckey Aldridge of Atlanta, GA and Brother-in-law – Frank Stuckey, Jr. (Emily) of Rome, GA; Many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 2:30PM – 3:30PM before the service on Monday, August 18, 2025. In addition to flowers the family requests contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation, www.parkinson.org, in memory of Andy.
