MRS. JOSEPHINE HILLIARD WHITE, age 81, of Gresston, GA, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, August 13, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. William Bagley officiating, with interment in Giddens Harrell Cemetery.
Josephine was born on August 8, 1944, in Dodge County, to the late Rev. Leroy Hilliard and Sybil Lane Giddens. She was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of First Assembly of God in Cochran, a 1962 graduate of Dodge County High School, received her degree in nursing from Middle Georgia College. She was a former Registered Nurse who worked extensively throughout Dodge County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who possessed a huge heart for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 58 years, Jerrell Joe "J.J." White, Sister, Linda Norris, and Stepfather, Ronald Giddens.
She is survived by her Daughters – Darla White and Stacey White, both of Gresston, GA; Son – Shawn White (Jennifer) of Gresston, GA; Grandchildren – Brittany Farmer, Cam Farmer, and Logan White; Great-Grandchildren – Don Burnam, III and Bentlee Farmer; Sisters – Connie Cline of Eastman, GA and Diane Simmons of Tifton, GA; Brothers – Ronnie Giddens (Linda) of Cochran, GA and Chris Hilliard (Lisa) of Eastman, GA; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Frances Spires of Sandersville, GA, Ann Combs (Howard) of Conyers, GA, and Ronnie White (Beth) of McRae, GA; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Shawn and Jennife White, 153 Wallace Circle, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Wednesday, August 13.
