Davis Hendricks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes - Knoxville on Sep. 10, 2021.
Davis Hendricks, 67, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, with his siblings at his side.
Davis was born on April 29, 1954 in Sweetwater, Tennessee. He was the son of J.R. and Ida (Lovingood) Hendricks. Davis is survived by his siblings, Diana (Jim) Andrews of Altona, Carol Trego of Abingdon, Peggy (Eric) Johnson of Victoria and Alvin (Penny) Hendricks of Oneida; several nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Rick Trego.
After graduating high school, Davis worked at United Facilities. In 1973, he went to work for Caterpillar, Inc. and would retire as a Repairman in the Tractor Repair Dept. in July, 2016 after 43 years of dedicated service. Davis was a hard worker. In his free time, he loved to go fishing, enjoyed his Friday night card game with his buddies. He also enjoyed traveling or watching a Cubs or Packers game with his friends. Davis was a "life-long class-clown" and loved to cut-up, joke around or play the ever-funny prank; but most of all Davis loved his family and friends would do almost anything for them.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 2-5 PM, at Pizza 150 Inc., on US150 in Kickapoo, IL. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Oneida have been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society or to Hospice Compassus. On-line condolences and/or expressions of sympathy may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
