Dawn Decker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 30, 2025.
Dawn Marie (Lundtvedt) Decker, 55, of Hedgesville, West Virginia passed away on June 25th, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family. A celebration of life service will be held at Independent Bible Church in Martinsburg, WV on July 5th, 2025 at 10:30 A.M.
Born in Decorah, Iowa, February 4th, 1970, Dawn graduated from Decorah High School in 1988 and then went on to attend Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Communications in 1992.
Dawn had a passionate soul and was enthusiastic about anything she was doing and would light up any room she walked into. She loved puzzles, reading, weeding the flower beds, murder mysteries, and spending time on the beach. She could stare at the ocean for hours. Dawn loved to travel and has lived in many different places across the US and even spent some time working as a flight attendant. Most of all she loved Jesus and felt her calling was to serve others. She spent a lot of time volunteering at her church, especially with the AWANA program. She was an incredible wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and loved to be with her family. She truly was the rock of the family and her passing will be greatly felt.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Daniel Decker; parents, Donald Lundtvedt and DiAnn (Wanless) Lundtvedt; brothers, Daniel Lundtvedt and Dwayne Lundtvedt; 9 children, Dakota, Declan, Delani, Deidra, Dryden, Dannen, Daithm, Denhym, and Drusyn; 2 son-in-laws, Jordan Weller and Caleb Weller; 3 grandchildren, Logan, Chandler, and Arden.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that people give donations in her name to AbbaCare center in Martinsburg, WV.
