It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dawn Frances (McKenzie) Diloreto, age 68, at her home in Belchertown, MA, on March 30, 2026. Born on April 3, 1957, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Donald and Lorraine (Mahoney) McKenzie. Dawn's life was beautifully woven with love and family. She cherished 48 wonderful years of marriage to Fred "Skip" Diloreto, with whom she built a life filled with laughter and warmth. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer Barkyoumb and her husband, Eric, and Amanda Staples and her husband, Mark, who brought her immense joy and pride. Dawn was also a doting Nonni to Cooper, Cameron, Clara, and Emerson, further enriching her legacy of love. Dawn grew up in Marlborough and later lived in Spencerport, New York, before settling in Belchertown to raise her family 35 years ago. She embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and dedication. While she took on part-time roles at CVS and as a receptionist at a hair salon, her most fulfilling work was caring for her own family as well as being a nanny, where she nurtured and cared for the children of the Hulmes and Cote families. A remarkable cook, Dawn possessed an extraordinary ability to craft meals both from scratch and by following recipes. Her specialties included "Nonni bread" and pasta sauce, creating unforgettable meals that drew family and friends together for delicious Sunday dinners. Dawn is survived by her husband, "Skip"; her daughters; her siblings, Maureen Margraf, Donna Callahan, James McKenzie, and Gary McKenzie; and was predeceased by her siblings, Renee Boutwell and Kevin McKenzie. Her life touched many, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A graveside service will be held at South Cemetery on Monday, April 13, at 11:00 AM, to honor Dawn's memory and celebrate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the D'Amour Cancer Center, supporting those battling the disease she faced with courage.
