Sandra Ann (nèe Saletnik) Borsa, 81, of Wakefield, RI, passed away peacefully on Feb. 14 in Springfield, Mass. Sandra was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Stanley J. Borsa Jr. She grew up and lived much of her life in Ludlow, Mass. and later found happiness in Rhode Island, where she nurtured her love of nature and the outdoors that stemmed from a childhood raised on a large family farm. She was a 1962 graduate of Ludlow High School.
In Rhode Island, Sandra volunteered at the Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge in South Kingston, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife/Kettle Pond Visitor Center in Charlestown, and Fayerweather Craft Guild, Kingston, where she had once served as president and sold her handmade jewelry and other wares. Sandra was a lifelong sewist and loved the art of making quilts often gifting her family with her beautiful handiwork. She was also a certified Master Gardener.
Sandra is survived by two daughters, Lauren Borsa-Curran and husband Ed Curran of Connecticut; and Leslie Alibozek and husband Stephen of Massachusetts. Her greatest love was being 'Non' to her four grandchildren: Emily Rosen (husband Brad) of Massachusetts, Melanie Alibozek of Massachusetts, Liam Curran and Caitlin Curran (fiancée Ed Smith) of Connecticut.
A period of visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 9:30 am-10:30 am with a Catholic service to begin at 10:30 am at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sandra's name to an organization that was close to her heart, Pet Refuge. Online at thepetrefuge.org or mailed to Pet Refuge/NKEAPL, PO Box 83, North Kingstown, RI, 02852
