Dawn Dunscomb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by White-Sanders Funeral Home - Qulin on Nov. 12, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Dawn Michele Dunscomb (age 60) of Omaha AR met her Lord and Savior early the morning of November 10, 2025 with her sisters singing hymns to her and holding her hands.

Dawn was born in Newport, Rhode Island on May 19, 1965 to Kenley and Joyce (Scott) Dunscomb.

One of four preacher's daughter, Dawn's faith in God began at a very young age and she shared it daily with everyone. Growing up in church she served as children's church supervisor, Sunday School teacher but most notably the "alto" to the duet with her sister for Sunday music specials, weddings and funerals.

Dawn was the sunshine sister, our social butterfly, our funny girl and she was always the Switzerland in the middle of an argument.

To her nieces and nephews Aunt Dawn was the "go to" for all kinds of adventure, lunches at off-road diners or coffee shops and overnight stays that included every kind of food their parents didn't allow.

As the daughter of a military father and pastor, she learned to love traveling early and did as much of it as possible until she found her final roots beside of her parents in the rolling hills of the Ozarks.

Dawn had many jobs in her lifetime but the one she cherished the most was being a freelance Court Reporter for the state of AR. It was the dream job she chased for years and when she finally passed her exam, the world was her open door.

As she traveled the state, from county to county, she never met a stranger. Those who met her quickly realized what a joy she was to work with, she was dependable, professional and was a breath of fresh air when she walked into any courtroom.

Her faith is what strengthened her for the past two months as she struggled with heart problems she never knew she had until an emergency colon surgery in September put her in the hospital. Dawn firmly believed God was in control and that when He was ready to call her in to heaven to meet Jesus, she was more than ready to hear the call "come home".

Dawn is survived by her father, Kenley Dunscomb of Omaha, AR. Sisters; Holly Pruett (Jim) of Des Moines, IA, Lucretia Hoffman (Mark) of Ankeny, IA and Shawn Dunscomb of Dexter, IA. Seven nieces, seven nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Joyce (Scott) Dunscomb.

Funeral services will be at the Oglesville, MO General Baptist Church at 11am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, with Rev. August Hoffman officiating. A short inurnment service will be held at 2pm at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, MO with Rev. Gerald Burger officiating. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held in Harrison, AR at a later date to be announced.
