Naugatuck - Dawn Evans, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at her home.
Born on March 11, 1958, in New Haven, Dawn was the daughter of the late William Evans and Angela DeBrizzi. She graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport in 1976 and was a proud Naugatuck resident for many years.
Dawn was a devoted mother, stepmother, and above all a cherished grandmother. She is survived by her children and step children: Michael Messina and his fiancee Emma Gorton; Scott Messina and his wife Kristi; Christopher Gombos; Nicholas Gombos; Richard Gombos Jr and his wife Maritza, Danielle Gombos and her husband Justin; and Jillian Breiner.
She was proudly known as “Nonnie,” to her grandchildren: Jacob, Caleb, Noah, Brooke, Lucian, Alexander, Lacey, and Jasper. Dawn found her greatest joy in life as her role as Nonnie, always putting her heart into every moment spent with her grandchildren. Whether it was doing homework with them, making their favorite meals, singing along to a song, coming up with funny nicknames for all the kids, or simply just being there after school. Dawn’s presence was always loving, and she was a very proud mom and grandma.
Dawn will leave an incredible impact. She was a funny and kind person who would proudly talk about her family to anyone who would listen. She will be greatly missed.
