Dawn Enette Grisel

The words I pasted here are from the News Review obituary published at the time Mom passed. It isn't of course, her life story but rather a blip on the radar screen of her life. We will try to paint a more accurate portrait of Dawn in the near future Dawn passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, after a life filled with music, literature, service to God, the community, and support of animals and the less fortunate. She was born on March 30, 1937, to Ernest and Cecila Barnett in Glen Elder, Kansas. Dawn was raised and educated in the Pacific Northwest, and taught English and music in Idaho and Oregon for 30 years. Dawn directed choir at First Christian Church in Roseburg, Oregon, for many years. She has four daughters, Barbara, Jill, Marilyn and Rhonda. She has 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many other beloved relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard (Chick) Grisel. Services were held at First Christian Church in Roseburg, on Monday, March 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, it was requested that donations be made to Saving Grace 541-440-4565 in Dawn's honor.
