Dawn Michelle Moon

Dawn Michelle Moon, 51 years young, passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 20, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1973, in Ringgold, Georgia. She resided in Schofield, Wisconsin.

Dawn graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1992. At the time of her passing, she was employed at Cedar Grove Warehouse in Schofield, where she was a valued member of the team. 

Dawn Moon was the most beautiful soul and hard-working woman - always putting everyone else before herself. She shared love and laughter through every struggle, bringing light to every dark place and making it shine. She loved the Lord, and in return the Lord really loved her. Dawn could tell a joke and out of nowhere would have the whole room laughing. She truly was an angel and was a blessing to those who knew her.

Dawn loved to be organized and rearrange things, especially decorating for the next holiday a little too early. This always made anywhere she was feel like home. She loved to camp and play games as well as sing along to any type of song. She also had an affinity for quoting movies.

Dawn is lovingly survived by her parents, Teresa (William) Mortenson of Tomahawk; and David (Julie) Moon of Georgetown, TN. Their constant support and love throughout her life shaped the incredible person she became, and they will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A devoted mother, Dawn cherished her four children, Dalton Ehn of Schofield, Austin Ehn of Phoenix, AZ, Phoenix Ehn of Wausau, and Madyson (Zach) Ehn of Stevens Point. Each of her children were a precious gift in her life. Her love and devotion to them were unwavering and she filled their days with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Dawn was immensely proud of her children, and her spirit will forever live on in their hearts.

Dawn was a doting grandmother, known as "Gammy Moon," to two beautiful grand-girls, Waiverly and Presley. They brought her immense joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love for her grand-girls was boundless and her wisdom and warmth will continue to guide them, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love.

Dawn shared a special bond with her sisters, Tammy (Eric) Toman of Merrill, and Davene Moon of Tomahawk. Their close friendship and laughter created a wealth of memories that will always be treasured. Dawn's love and support were central to their lives and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.

Dawn was also a beloved aunt to Jordan, Larissa, Bryan, Dakota, Issac, Jesse, and Mitchell, bringing joy and laughter to their lives in a way only she could. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends, all of whom were blessed to know her warmth and kindness.

Dawn is preceded in death by her brother, Darry Mortenson; and her sister, Deborah Hetzel. She is further preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Dawn's memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 2809 Jelinek Avenue, Weston, WI 54476. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
