Dawn Pomrening Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society - Schofield on Dec. 5, 2025.
Dawn Renee Pomrening, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2025, from complications of her end stage renal disease and lupus.
Born on January 2, 1969, to Darwin Hartmann and Karla (Swenson) Lemmer, Dawn grew up surrounded by love and family values that shaped her generous spirit. She was a devoted wife to Todd and a loving mother to Gregory Fecteau, Christopher, and Zacary Pomrening. Her granddaughter, Alexis Fecteau, was her pride and joy.
Dawn was a creative soul, passionate about beading, quilting, and sewing, sharing her crafts with friends and communities throughout Wisconsin. She owned and operated a restaurant until her oldest son graduated high school, after which she pursued her dream of teaching, earning her degree and dedicating herself to helping children succeed. Dawn, Todd and Zacary later moved to Alaska, where she inspired and guided countless students, helping many earn their high school diplomas before aging out of the system.
She had a deep love for people, forging friendships across the country. She was kind and compassionate. Dawn's life was defined by her generosity, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Todd; children, Gregory Fecteau, Christopher (Tiffany) Pomrening, and Zacary Pomrening; granddaughter, Alexis Fecteau; parents, Karla and Jim Lemmer; siblings, Donna (Kelley) Akey and Darwin Bruce (Tennille) Hartmann; step-siblings, Craig (Heidi) Lemmer and Lana (David) Brounacker; grandmother, Jean Swenson; mother-in-law, Phyllis Pomrening; brother-in-law, Brian (Kay) Pomrening; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Darwin Hartmann; maternal grandfather; paternal grandparents; and father-in-law, Philip Pomrening.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the Aspirus Wausau Hospital emergency room, and ICU staff for their kindness and care, especially Luke. Family and friends can share words of remembrance at www.mwcs.ws
