Dawn Marie Priess, 56, of Cass City, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 5, 2025. She was born June 10, 1969, and was a proud high school graduate. In 2009, Dawn earned her cosmetology license, beginning a career she truly loved, spending many years styling and cutting hair.
On July 4, 2019, Dawn married the love of her life, Guy Priess. She became a homemaker who found her greatest joy in raising her children and stepchildren, and in helping care for her grandchildren. Dawn was “Mom” or “Aunt” to countless others as well and claimed them all as family.
Dawn enjoyed swimming, being outdoors, and watching the kids ride dirt bikes. She was also known for her love of animals and would have rescued every stray she met if she could. Above all, Dawn will be remembered for her selflessness, her kindness, and the way she always put others before herself. Her loving, generous spirit will live on in everyone who knew her.
Dawn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Guy; children, Nicole & David Dempsey, Annemarie Lewis, Darrin & Marjorie Lewis, and Jake & Carly Lewis; stepsons, Charlie Priess and John Priess; eighteen grandchildren, Zach, Leiann, Cole, Jordyn, Avani, Ace, Airess, Taylor, Damian, Quintin, Sophia, Jerzee, Ellieonna, Chevy, Lydia, Novalee, Dillin, and Paisley; step-grandchildren, Jack, Skylar, and Levi; great-grandchildren, Mavéya and Luna; siblings, William Mitchell and Glen & Danielle Law; many extended family members and friends. Dawn was preceded in death by her son, Jack Edwards.
In keeping with Dawn’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family.
